Registration Begins May 1st!

·     Prior experience in lacrosse is great, but not necessary!

·       We will be forming a JV and Varsity team if we have enough players (approx 40) to form 2 teams. Both teams are open to 9-12 graders. Players will have the opportunity to letter at the JV level

·       We may have practice once a week in the fall to keep up stick skills and possibly play in 1-2 local scrimmages.  These practices and games WILL NOT interfere with football! Players can choose to just play in the spring if their schedule doesn’t allow to play both fall and spring

·       Regular season games are played in the spring (January-May) with local area DIII schools and one travel tournament may be scheduled for some time in the spring.

·       Lacrosse is a club sport and as such receives no funding from the Lovejoy Independent School District (LISD).  Parents pay a fee for their son to play and attempt to raise funds in various ways throughout the year.  Players are responsible for purchasing their own equipment as well as uniforms.

·       Cost to play is TBD: 

Approx. fees: Dues ($500) per year

Equipment ($250)

Dues will cover uniform, team registration fee with the league, coaches salaries, fees to maintain field and purchase team   equipment (goals, paint, balls etc)

·        *The LHS Lacrosse Board realizes that some of you may not be used to playing club sports, and that lacrosse is a "pay to play" club sport. What makes this program work is the financial support of parents and the booster club.  Thanks to a few very generous donors, there are a few scholarships available to those who would like to use them.  The scholarships will be used to cover the cost of the dues, however players are still responsible for purchasing their own equipment.   Please email us at lhslacrosse@leopardlacrosse.net if you are interested in submitting an application for these scholarships. Applications will be reviewed and those selected by the Board. Scholarships will be rewarded on a "first come, first serve basis". We do not want the cost to play, to turn anyone away from this activity. We want to make it work for everyone to have a chance to play!
